Note from Pastor Karen of Pine Ridge Reservation

We'd like to share this post with you from Pastor Karen of Pine Ridge - she's one of those trusted by the folks who live there for her honesty and caring.

"Hi Pat,
I'm thankful for Debbie's and your generous hearts and hands.  What a wonderful organization you belong to.  We find homes for donations received pretty quickly.  Our storage area is limited and we are blessed with many contacts who put the word out to those who have a need as items become available.  We try to meet the need for warm clothing, (adult gloves are needed), disposable diapers, shoes, candles, school supplies, etc.  Members of the community have come to see us as a possible source to meet special needs - they contact us and we try to help them out.    Book bags just arrived yesterday and they look great.Thank you for all you do and thank you especially for the recent boxes of goodies we've received."

5 Boxes were shipped to Pine Ridge Reservation SD

We still have a few more that need to be mailed but will have to wait until we get some financial help towards the cost.

However,we did finish sending out the 75 boxes to the Crow Creek Reservation as promised. We might not be able to move a mountain but we sure do move alot of hills.Aliitle bit is better than none.It makes ones heart feel good when you know one item can make a differance in a childs life.example-one pair of gloves or socks can keep a child warm in the cold weather.

An artist's story

This man painted the buffalo picture. If you notice he is in a wheel chair.Awhile ago while he was sleeping he had been bitten by several spiders. The sites became infected and he needed half of both legs amputated. He sells his paintings to the people who are tourist for an income.

One of the nicer trailors on the REZ

Many families live far from the store or community center. They walk or ride bikes to get there. Its easy to feel alone and isolated in the Winter when the ground is covered with lots of snow.

Orange Juice on sale at store on the REZ

New cheap price for orange juice?yeah!
