EDWARD

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO EDWARD?
We were recently asked about Edward. We met him 3 yrs ago.He was a 50 yr old stroke victim. His sister had gotten in touch with us because someone had stolen his wheel chair off of the porch. We told her if we had one we would be sure to give it to her.We put out a request for one and received it within a week. She was thrilled to get it and so was her brother.A year aft...er that she emailed us and asked if we ever get walkers with a seat.Again we put out a request and someone came through for us.Edward could walk alittle dragging his left leg and tired easily. So a walker with a seat was definitely an asset when he needed to sit down.Well last year we heard from Edward and his sister and they told us he walked with a cane.WOW
to think of the progress he has made in 3 yrs what a blessing.Another blessing is that generous people donated the wheel chair and walker to help Edward.Never think that a donation doesn't matter or help someone. One item can make all the difference in someone's life. One act of kindness can go far.The Edwards in the world thank each and everyone of you who give unselfishly.

WHAT WE DONT ACCEPT IN DONATIONS

Recently asked again WHAT DONT WE TAKE?
answer; No toys to do with violence-guns,arrows,pocket knives etc..
No books except children's books
No balloons-very dangerous if they whine up in a child's mouth and they happen to swallow it by mistake
No clothes with offensive logo's on them
No dungeon and dragons games,book,figurines,etc...
(Fr John and I don't take stuff animals due to takes up to much room in our garage-however,Peachess does
No sexual type of material, magizines, books or toys
THERE IS ENOUGH NEGATIVITY,VIOLENCE AND EVIL IN THE WORLD,WE WANT TO REPRESENT LOVE,PEACE ,BROTHERHOOD AND BEING POSITIVE.THE ITEMS ABOVE ARE NOT BENEFICIAL TO ANYONES WELL BEING.THEREFORE WE DONT WANT THEM!

My favorite bagger

While in line at the grocery store waiting for my turn. The couple in front of me were talking about the CARTELLS IN MEXICO.The cashier interjected and said"I don't believe in killing but the CARTELLS,ISIS,KKK AND THE MS-13 GANG NEED TO BECOME EXTINCT.THEN SHE ADDED I WONDER IF THE KKK AND ISIS ON SOME LEVEL KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS WRONG AND THATS WHY THEY HIDE BEHIND MASKS.Needless to say the couple was speechless. They looked like their jaws dropped.lol.Perhaps they were shocked that the cashier just spoke up even though no one addressed her.Or perhaps they were shocked thinking someone with down syndrome was aware and interested in the world affairs. But for me nothing surprises me when it comes to this confident bagger.I have seen first hand when she has something to say she does not let her extra chromosome hold her back.

SOMETIMES WE ALL NEED A REMINDER

TODAYS LESSON IS TO REMEMBER TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE,SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE IT WORSE
(how I decided on this reminder)
Anyone who knows me knows I have trouble with my feet, many times its so difficult for me to walk due to poor circulation and some edema. To many soda's and sweets over the yrs made me a good candidate for becoming a diabetic.Anyway I was sitting in the car at a stores parking ...lot and complaining to myself about how painful my feet were .And feeling sorry for myself. At that exact moment I heard a bunch of cars beeping their horns .I looked up and saw a man in a wheelchair trying to manuaver himself across the busy highway. His wheelchair was not electric he had big muscles no doubt from using his hands to move the wheelchair. And he also had no legs. And I yelled out to myself thank you God for the feet I have, how bad I felt for feeling so sorry for myself when their are many others worse off. This man in the wheelchair was a reminder to me ,BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE IT WORSE!(and yes the man got across the road)

THE WHEEL CHAIR

DEBBIE TO THE RESCUE:
Last year we heard of a 70 yr old grandma who had a heart attack and tired easily and could no longer go jogging with her granddaughter. She wanted to donate her jogging clothes since she said "she would not be able to use them since she no longer could jog.We went and picked up the clothes and shoes from her. She was very tearful when she spoke of how her and her granddaughter would go to the park near where they lived and do some jogging and walking on the paths. When we mentioned it to our volunteer Debbie she came up with a plan. Little did we know when she is on a mission she is relentless. She said"I will find a wheelchair so the granddaughter can take her on those long walks.. We also put out a request for a wheelchair with no luck. Meanwhile Debbie was scouting around for a cheap one in local thrift shops. With no luck.Evantually she was given a free one from the ELKS CLUB in Pt Pleasant. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!And grandma asked for her jogging stuff back, lol
We returned the items since we had not given them out,and again grandma was tearful, but this time they were happy tears.

Our hearts are sadden

Once again we hear about another journalist who has been beheaded. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones.
The violence and barbaric methods of others effect all of us.Especially when we hear the victims were from United States.
